The Consular Services Division at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is concerned with serving Bahraini nationals outside the Kingdom of Bahrain, as well as residents and foreign nationals inside the Kingdom by following official legal methods to facilitate transactions and procedures for Bahrainis, foreign nationals and communities to benefit in the shortest time possible from consular services and state ministries’ services.
On the other hand, the Consular Services Division is the link between embassies and consulates of the Kingdom of Bahrain abroad and ministries and governmental institutions inside the Kingdom, as well as between foreign embassies residing and accredited abroad and the ministries of the state.
The Consular Services Division provides the Kingdom's ministries and citizens of the Kingdom of Bahrain many consular services that contribute to facilitating procedures at home and abroad. The number of consular services undertaken by the Division is 28.
Among the consular services that can be provided to citizens of the Kingdom abroad, and foreigners are:
- Replacement of Bahraini passports
- Issuance of Laissez-passer to facilitate the return to the Kingdom of Bahrain for newborns, and for those who are exposed to theft or loss of their identity papers, which include passports and identity cards
- Submit requests to obtain a certificate of good conduct for citizens and foreigners
