The Permanent Mission of the State of Qatar to the United Nations in New York was established with the country’s accession to the international Organization in 1971. The ceremony of hoisting the flag at the United Nations headquarters took place on 22 September 1971, heralding the accession of the State of Qatar to the membership of the organization. To date, the mission has been led by eight ambassadors.
The Permanent Mission of the State of Qatar to the United Nations in New York was created with the aim of representing Qatar and managing its relationship with the international organization.
